A Celebration for Jack!

Last night Jack got one of these! Mmmm... (Although, to be honest, he enjoyed his hot dog more than the milkshake!)

The reason for the celebration?

These!!!!

In case you couldn't tell what "these" are, they're diapers and diaper wraps. That's right!!! Jack no longer wears diapers! In fact, he hasn't peed or pooed in a diaper in almost 2 weeks and has only had one little pee accident in his pants. When we got back from Pennsylvania (almost 2 weeks ago), we continued to put a diaper on him at night, but after wearing the same diaper at night for 5 days in a row and it continued to stay dry, we just stopped putting it on him.

Here's Jack going "boop." Boop has been his generic term for going potty, either poo or pee. He is starting to say "bown boop" now though. Actually, as I was writing this a few minutes ago, I heard "bown boop"! coming from the bathroom, where a giant "bown boop" was waiting in the potty for me.

And a little video of some "boop" excitement.

Yeah Little Booper!

Congratulations! How exciting to have all out of diapers. That will save you some time. I can't wait until Katie is out of them. Any hints?

It does save time! I no longer am washing and drying (or hanging on a clothesline) every two days. Gotta love that! As for hints, I don't really have any, really. Jack used to let us know when he was going in his diaper a long time ago and was the type to ask to be changed. He didn't (doesn't) like to be wet. We just started having him walk around with a naked tush and told him to use the potty if he needed to go and he just did. One hint I have though is to NOT use pull-ups (horrible, horrible product used to keep kids happy in diapers for longer- imo) and don't put on a diaper just because you're leaving the house after they are trained. They'll just regress. Have them go potty before you leave and then ask every hour or so when you're out. The dry at night thing is just developmental. My other two wet at night until they were almost 3 and almost 4. Good luck! But really, she'll do it when she's ready. Potty training doesn't really work if it is forced at the wrong time.

That is soooo awesome!! Go Jack! Bran still is super UNinterested in it...grrr...though now I'm using Jack as another example: "Remember little Jack-Jack? He uses the potty!" Bran is unimpressed. Nuala now just wears diapers at night, once we get a mattress cover thingy for her bed, she can wear panties to bed like she's been begging to, poor girl! But that is awesome about Jack. He's such a young little guy! that video was very cute, I love his little smile at the end. N&B had to watch it over and over and over...of course :)
