We started our day pretty early, with a homemade granola breakfast, Daddy's favorite. Of course homemade cards were given as well! Then we headed to North Bend to climb Little Si. The kids got to show Daddy how strong they had gotten from all of our Tuesday hikes with our friends. Daddy was pretty impressed. It was a 5 mile round trip hike (we did a little exra hiking for some geocaches...) with an 1200 foot elevation gain and I only carried Jack for the last 5 minutes up and for about 15 minutes on the way down. And no whining from the other kids! Woohoo! They must have wanted Daddy to have a really special day, as I am not always this lucky.
Jack and Jonah were really tight yesterday. It was pretty cute.
Jonah, checking out the view from the top. He was sure he found our house...
An awesome daddy with his amazing children.
And with Mama too.
Jonah is a monkey. You all know that, right? I was telling my friend the other day that I never know whether to look on the ground or whether to look 8 or so feet up if I think I've lost him. He climbs soooooo quickly! Here he is climbing a tree at the top of Little Si.
Here's Jack, playing peekaboo behind his bag of peanut M&M's. Another hiker talked to us briefly and the top of the mountain and said to Jack, "What a great reward you have!" And Jack responded "No! Dese are Neminems!
Gotta love M&M drool!
And here is the Papa mountain goat with his 2 little mountain goats.
They climbed way way up in no time. It took a lot longer to get down!
Mike, Paige and Jonah climbed all the way up to where the dirt begins.
Jonah never tires of climbing. Here he is perched atop a stump. Paige usually follows right behind him!
Swinging on a branch over the trail. Ooh-ooh ah-ah!
Found a geocache! Actually, we found 4 on or near the trail yesterday!
We had such a nice time together. We got home from the hike around 4 and just chilled out together watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Well, I watched most of it since I was a little busy making fish tacos (Mike's request) for dinner. Yummy yummy!
We love you Mike! The kids miss you today as you head to Germany and I do too. You are the most fun, engaging, and loving Daddy in the world. We are so blessed.
