We are still having fun though, as always. The kids are growing and playing with each other more and more. Now Jack is really trying to keep up, and doing a pretty good job. Paige and Jonah have become massive climbers...
Jonah really was a big tree climber last year also, but Paige really has started climbing this year. I think because she is so competitive, and Jonah could do it, she had to figure out how. We don't have a lot of good climbing trees (all smaller, with lots of branches) so it is actually harder for her because she is bigger and it is difficult to get around the branches at times. I know because I tried to climb one of these trees with them...
Jack doesn't climb trees yet, although he really wants too. He is busy now with his car. Last year for his birthday we got a new battery for a small power wheels four wheeler we had. Jack loved it. But the kids are all to big for it now; the little ones are not really designed for moving any weight at all. So I made a few minor electrical modifications and doubled the power output!!! Now even though Jack is too big for it, it really moves. I drove it too. When Jack first got on it after I made the modifications, he popped a wheelie!!!
We have been having a really mild winter, which has been great (I guess, I really like winter) because the kids have been able to play outside more than normal for this time of year. Jack has finally grown out of his baby swing, so now we have three normal swings attached to the play structure.
Paige likes pushing Jack. Although I think he only sits normal on the swing when Julie or I are pushing him. Probably safer that way.
Finally, Jonah and Paige have learned the coolest thing ever. Their friend Grace showed them how to climb doors. Paige is getting really good at it. It is a skill that needs to be mastered and had fun with only when they are little. As you get bigger it becomes harder and harder to do it, because the angle your ams and legs make to the door opening becomes so much less.
Here is a quick video of Paige climbing. She is really proud of this trick. I love it too. I tell her to show everyone who comes into our house how she does it. I tried to get her to do it at Church a couple of Sunday's ago to show a parent, but Julie didn't allow it. Paige is smart to listen to her mom over me.
